More on “news alerts”

After publishing the previous article entitled “Watch out for ‘news alerts,’ I did some updated checking to see if either CNN.com or MSNBC.com have acknowledged the problem and have tried to do anything about it. I’m pleased to say that progress is being made - I think…
MSNBC.com has actually put up a blog article [...]

Watch out for “news alerts”

Over the past few weeks many of my email accounts, especially Yahoo!Mail and Hotmail.com, have been inundated with messages purporting to be from CNN.com and MSNBC.com. They are “phishing” emails, trying to harvest new active email accounts by either (1)registering the emails that actually open the messages, and/or (2) by capturing emails from people trying [...]

New websites - BendTree.com

My final entry for today is about another new website that I am currently working on for Bend Cascadia Nursery, a Bend, Oregon wholesale nursery company. I stumbled across this client after looking at some computer “gigs” on Craigslist.org.
Once in a great while I’ll get the itch to go check the Craigslist [...]

New websites - PoultonImaging.com

As I mentioned in my earlier post, I’ve been keeping busy building and supporting some new websites. I’ve not done much in the way of active marketing for new business, but I have managed to keep a steady flow of small business owners inquiring about my services.
I think most are surprised at how inexpensively I [...]

New websites - StephanieStamos.com

As those of you who actually follow the progress of this blog may have noticed, I have not been actively posting for the past few weeks. I’ve even received a few calls and some emails about my “disappearance,” but fear not, things ARE happening around here and so far they are all good - [...]

My trip to Orange County

I’ve just returned from a ten-day trip to Southern California with stops in Marin and Sonoma counties. Although the drive was over 2000 miles round-trip, my old Toyota Camry handled it without complaint and just silently purred along at speeds up to 90 mph.
Gas prices ranged from the $3.70 range in Oregon to as high [...]

Judgment Day?

It’s Tuesday and election day in Pennsylvania. Today might mark the beginning of a “new beginning,” or it may be just the beginning of another major political disappointment. The winner of the Pennsylvania Democratic Primary could turn out to be this country’s last hope for a major turnaround from the course this country has been [...]

Check out the new links - especially Denny’s

Over the past few weeks I’ve added some new links to other sites of mine. Today I’ve added a link to my brother’s new “business card” page hosted by Indymac Bank. Denny is a home loan consultant for Indymac in Orange County, California.
Denny and I frequently chat about the state of real estate throughout [...]

Updated Memorial Pages

At the suggestion of my brother Denny, I have updated our father’s memorial pages that are linked to this website.
Within just a few weeks it will be two years since his passing, yet it seems like it was just recently that I saw him last. So many of the good memories from my youth involve my father. [...]

Hoyle Website updates

This is just to let everyone know that I have updated both my main business website, www.Hoyle-Consulting.com , and my larger secondary site, www.SmallWebMaster.com. These two sites are designed to promote my Salem, Oregon based web design and services business.
Remember that I also own and manage www.ALowCostWebSite.com, a full services domain registration service. On that site, I [...]
